Waystone were chosen by Derbyshire County Council to redevelop the former American Adventure theme park which is situated at the heart of the Shipley Valley Country Park.  The site extends some 114 acres, incorporating an existing 30-acre lake which forms the focalpoint of the development.  A variety of new footpaths though the site provides a connection with the lake and links up with the vast network of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes which serve the greater area of the Shipley Country Park.

In January 2017, planning was approved, and work to clear and re-engineer the site commenced.  House building is now well underway, with two housebuilders currently on site delivering over 300 new homes and a 66-bed care home is also under construction.Ultimately it is envisaged that the mixed development will comprise a variety of housing overlooking the lake, a residential care home, hotel, leisure, and commercial/employment-based uses.  

The development has the benefit of accessibility to the local train stations and road links to the cities of Nottingham and Derby and the M1 motorway.
